Summer Groups 2023
Join us for a summer of speech camp where kids will be focused on targeting story telling skills including story retell, reading for details, comprehension, while also targeting sequencing and expressive language development. Each week campers will be exploring a summer theme (beach, camping, etc.) while diving into a story where they will be working together to answer questions and expand vocabulary to create their own stories while building peer interaction and group work skills. This group is lead by a speech therapist and aimed at targeting skills like inferencing, problem solving, creating grammatical sentences, utilizing appropriate pronouns, verb tenses, identifying cohesive story elements, peer work and more!
Help keep your kids writing throughout the summer with this weekly Occupational Therapy group. Every week there will be a fun new theme with different writing and fine motor activities. The therapist will target each child’s individual writing goals with differnet age appropriate tasks. This group is aimed at practicing letter size consistentcy, line placement, letter formation and spacing. Each family will submit a writing sample and primary concerns prior to group to allow the therapist to establish a baseline and goals for every child.
Our handwriting camp will use the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for all campers. Each child will be taught at their individual level and will be provided with activities for home to re-enforce new learning. Camp will also include fun fine motor activities to target grasp, fine motor control, visual motor integration and manual dexterity skills.
Ninja camp helps kids develop fundamental movement patterns and strength. It will focus on gross motor skills while working in a team environment. Your kids will learn about healthy habbits and routines while having fun. This group will target core strength, balance, bilateral coordination, body awareness and mental toughness.
A girls group for tweens and teens to discuss important topics they are dealing with in their everyday lives. This group will target discussing issues such as hygiene, friends, girl talk, and more. The girls will learn the importance of emotional regulation and strategies that can help them in their day to day activities.
Talking Together is a group program designed for preschool aged children who have expressive, receptive, and social language delays. The goal of the program is to improve your child’s communication skills through a language rich environment that encourages the development of preschool class readiness skills. Ongoing consult with a licensed occupational therapist will be provided to individualize sensory, gross, and fine motor needs. Children will be participating in early preschool activities including circle time, art, snack, gross/fine motor activities, and music time.
The following early communication skills will be targeted throughout our play-based class:- Imitation of sounds, gestures, words, and phrases – Attending to communication partners – Social communication and turn-taking skills – Functional vocabulary development – Understanding/using single words and short phrases
There are two choices for class days, either Monday/Wednesday (16 sessions) or Tuesday/Thursday (16 Sessions), or Monday – Thursday (32 Sessions) these spots will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
Time: 9AM – 11AM
Dates: June 5th – August 3rd (Out the week of July 4th)
Cost: $1,400 (16 Sessions) / $2,800 (32 Sessions)
